“Oh the Places You’ll Go” Themed Acrylic Signage + Cake Topper
For this project, we created custom acrylic detailing for Aiden’s sixth birthday, built around the classic “Oh the Places You’ll Go” theme. The goal was to design clean, modern pieces that complemented the soft colour palette and playful travel concept, while still feeling elevated and cohesive across the entire setup.
Our focus was on the backdrop lettering and cake topper, ensuring both elements tied seamlessly into the overall styling.
The Acrylic Details
Backdrop Signage
The backdrop featured a split-panel arch design, combining a soft neutral tone with a muted blue panel. We supplied the acrylic lettering and decorative elements to bring the concept to life.
The main feature included:
- “Aiden’s Sixth Birthday” acrylic lettering in a soft green tone, giving a subtle contrast against the neutral base
- “Oh the places you’ll go” raised acrylic text applied to the blue panel for a clean, dimensional finish
- Acrylic icons including clouds, planes and hot air balloons, adding movement and reinforcing the travel theme
The raised acrylic creates depth without overwhelming the design, allowing the signage to feel polished while still playful and age-appropriate.
Cake Topper
The cake topper was designed to match the overall theme and colour palette, creating a cohesive look across the setup.
Key features:
- Layered acrylic topper reading “Aiden is SIX”
- Combination of soft blue tones with neutral accents to tie into the backdrop
- Cloud-shaped base with small travel-inspired details for added character
The topper sits cleanly within the cake design, complementing the fondant world map and travel elements without competing with them.
The Overall Look
This setup worked because every element stayed consistent:
- Soft blue, beige and muted green tones
- Travel-inspired details carried across signage and cake
- Clean acrylic finishes paired with organic balloon styling
