Working Beyond Acrylic

While most of our work features acrylic, we also produce custom pieces using timber.

For certain projects, wood offers a different finish — softer, warmer, and more natural — which can suit personal pieces, keepsakes, and seasonal items particularly well.

These examples combine laser-cut timber with acrylic elements to create contrast and depth.

  • Timber base for a natural, textured finish
  • Engraved details for finer elements like florals or text
  • Acrylic layering to add dimension and clarity
  • Mix of materials to balance softness with precision

When to Use Wood

Wood tends to suit projects where a softer aesthetic is preferred.

It works well for:

  • Baby announcements and keepsakes
  • Nursery pieces
  • Christmas ornaments and seasonal items
  • Gifts with a more natural or minimal style

Compared to acrylic, it introduces variation in grain and tone, making each piece slightly unique.

Combining Materials

Many projects use both materials together rather than choosing one over the other.

  • Acrylic for clean, crisp lettering
  • Wood for warmth and base structure

This combination allows for more flexibility in design while keeping the final piece cohesive.

Outcome

Adding timber into our process expands what we can create — offering a different finish without changing the level of detail or precision.

Custom Materials

If you’re planning a custom piece, we can work across acrylic, wood, or a combination of both depending on the style you’re after.

Each material brings a different feel, and we can guide what will work best for your project.
